THE entrance to the Gwendoline Kindergarten in Berwick will be resurfaced by the end of August after Casey council approved $20,000 from last year’s budget to complete the works.
Springfield Ward councillor Sam Aziz presented a petition with 146 signatures calling for the road entrance to be improved at the Casey council meeting on 15 June.
Many letters had also been sent to council requesting the temporary entrance on Gwendoline Drive be resurfaced.
Cr Aziz said he was happy council found the money to address the concerns of residents.
The Gwendoline Kindergarten was expanded during 2008 and due to construction requirements, a temporary access was provided. This access was closed in June.
Low profile speed humps will also be installed in the existing car park as part of the works.
Casey council officers say they have “liaised” with Gwendoline Kindergarten representatives, saying they are satisfied the construction of the new access would meet the requirements of the petition.
Grand entrance to be sealed
