Daniel Kelaart and Jared Grant of Hope Generation are excited about their upcoming album launch.AN Endeavour Hills based church is using music to send out a message of hope and freedom as it tries to bridge the gap between religion and youth culture.
Hope Generation is set to launch its fourth album, Free to Be, on Saturday 24 September. The album features artists from the church and all over Victoria. Twentytwoyearold Jared Grant, who wrote most of the songs on the album, said it was the result of one and a half years work.
The Hallam resident and former Maranatha Secondary College student said the album declared the truth of the gospel and was an expression of church life.
Mr Grant teaches music and also helps conduct the church’s services at the Fountain Gate Hotel each Sunday at 6.30pm. He said Hope Generation’s last album sold 3000 copies and their music had taken them all over the world from America to the United Kingdom.
He said the church was focused on bringing young people back to God and spirituality. “Church is not just for older people,” he said.
The album also features Daniel Kelaart, 19, who produced and engineered Free to Be. He runs Grafete studio in Endeavour Hills where the album is recorded and said he had always been passionate about music.
“I am self taught and I have learnt things from experience and hanging around the right people.
