TRANQUILLITY by name and tranquillity by nature is an ideal description for Barbara Muma’s Narre Warren North garden.
And the pleasant surrounds that Ms Muma and her family have enjoyed for the last 16 years will be open to the public next weekend as part of Australia’s Open Garden Scheme.
The luscious flower-filled garden features stunning views of Port Phillip Bay and has a lake that works as an ideal wildlife attraction.
Ms Muma said the open weekend would be suited to both adults and children with three surprises scattered among the lush foliage for visitors to discover.
“I’ve got a mixture of rose and perennial borders throughout the garden with a bushwalk and lake as a feature,” Ms Muma said.
The avid gardener said her hobby provided her with great enjoyment and she was delighted to let the wider public enjoy her work.
“The family helps out and some of the neighbours have given up some of their time too.”
Tranquillity at 149 A’Beckett Road, Narre Warren North, will be open between 10am and 4.30pm on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 November.
A $5 entry fee for adults will apply while children will be admitted free.
