COME early spring Berwick’s Ashleigh Brennan will spend two weeks with her gymnastic team-mates in Canberra flipping and jumping about before heading to Delhi, India, for this year’s Commonwealth Games.
It’s her second time at the major championship event and to get the opportunity to represent her country again along with more than 400 athletes, Brennan said, is a dream come true.
“I’m looking forward to meeting the rest of the girls at the camp and it’s going to be really exciting,” she said.
“It will be great to share the experience with so many people, because you get to experience the success of everyone’s achievement and that’s something truly special to be apart of.”
Brennan will practise her routine in the nation’s capital on 12 September and from that, the coaches will pick and chose which athletes will compete in the different events at the games.
