Student Vinh Hoang had his head shaved by Kellie McKenzie from SB Hair and Beauty as part of Monash University’s World’s Greatest Shave.
BRAVE students at Berwick’s Monash University faced the clippers last week in a bid to raise funds for cancer.
Three lecturers at the Clyde Road campus also parted with their locks as part of the university’s World’s Greatest Shave, the university raising close to $500 for the Leukaemia Foundation.
The event was organised by Monash students and those not courageous enough to part with their hair instead chose to add a splash of colour, dying their locks green, blue, pink, red and purple.
A free barbecue was also held and two hairdressers from SB Hair and Beauty in Berwick were kept busy with close to 20 people choosing to change their hairstyle for cancer.
The shave was organised by student Mehdi Spighi and Monash Union of Berwick Students (MUBS) welfare officer Keegan Street, who congratulated all involved for taking part in the event.
Mr Street said MUBS was pleased with the big turn-out and was keen to hold a similar event next year.
