BERWICK was transformed into fields of joy as a fledgling school prepared to take flight.
Education minister Lynne Kosky officially opened the Berwick Fields Primary School recently as student excitement spilled over towards the end of its first academic year.
The morning formalities included speeches by Ms Kosky, Senator Mitch Fifield and principal Stephen Wigney, as well as musical performances and a school photo.
This was to give way to an afternoon of fun as students celebrated a great first year for the school.
“Everything turned out really well,” Mr Wigney said.
“We’ve had great support from the students and parents and the staff have been excellent.”
Mr Wigney said teachers had been working hard to put in place innovative programs while engaging pupils through fun activities.
And judging by the smiles, Berwick Fields should provide fertile ground for an enjoyable education.
