DOVETON suffered yet another three-goal defeat when it fell to the Southern Suburbs in Football Federation Victoria State League Three action at Keeley Park on Saturday.
But unlike the previous two weeks, the Doves got a score on the board, losing 4-1.
Miles Tidd was the only scorer for Doveton, slotting one through in the second half.
The loss saw the Doves continue their slide down the ladder moving from fifth to seventh.
Doveton started the season impressively, winning six of the first seven rounds, but have been disappointing since then, losing the past five.
The team will be looking to get its season back on track this weekend when it hosts Mooroolbark at Waratah Reserve.
Mooroolbark will be also looking for a win after falling to Berwick City at Esther Park Reserve on Saturday.
Simon Mur gave Berwick the edge with two goals while Matthew Nitz and Callan Fisher snagged one each to see their team record a 4-3 victory.
Berwick has the chance to record back-to-back victories when it hosts Morwell Pegasus at Jack Thomas Reserve this Saturday.
In other State League Three matches, Endeavour United was bumped from first to third by the Eastern Lions, who claimed top spot.
The Lions set up their victory in the first half, outscoring Endeavour United 2-0.
Mohammed Alsakran gave Endeavour United hope in the last half in slotting one through, but was the only name on the final scoresheet, his team losing 2-1.
Springvale City recorded its first draw of the season at Ross Reserve on Saturday and maintained fourth spot on the ladder, despite failing to kick a goal against 11th-placed Nunawading City.
On Saturday the Vales travel to Fairfield Park to take on Fitzroy City and Endeavour United hosts the second-placed Frankston Strikers at Reema Reserve.
