Doves win tough tussle

DOVETON seniors travelled to Keysborough expecting a tough match from the league’s most improved side and got exactly that and had to dig deep for its 35-point win.
The Doves got off to another great start with all their big guns firing and taking a four-goal lead into the first break.
The second quarter saw the Doves extend their lead slightly and looked comfortable at the break.
To Keysborough’s credit, it battled hard and the Doves had to work hard for the win.
Once again Justin Hill was best on ground and proved how dangerous he is up forward, finishing with five goals.
Dale Kilpatrick had an impressive return to the seniors with three goals and Ryan Brown finished with two.
Brad Downe enjoyed his freedom up the ground playing another great game.
Scores: Doveton 16.14 (110) d Keysborough 10.15 (75).

The Doves were in control for the whole game, outscoring their opponents in every quarter and never looking like losing the match.
It was a great team effort with all players performing well and more importantly as a team.
Up forward, the dynamic duo of Pete Dye and Michael Gardner starred again, finishing with five and four goals respectively.
Ben Anderson also played a solid game, battling hard in the ruck and Ben Woolgar played a strong defensive game.
Scores: Doveton 18.12.120 d Keysborough 9.1.55.

The Doves looked very dangerous up forward with Simon Black, Daniel Zajac and James Pattinson each kicking two.
