THE Doveton and Eumemmerring communities are busy preparing for a day of fun and celebration this Australia Day when they acknowledge multicultural diversity.
Doveton and Eumemmerring Neighbourhood Renewal and local residents have organised the event, to be held at the Doveton Pool in the Park in conjunction with the Doveton Neighbourhood Learning Centre.
The South Eastern Region Migrant Resource Centre has also helped organise the event with the support of Vic Health and the City of Casey.
Radio 3SER will be broadcasting live from Doveton Pool in the Park on the day.
The celebrations will kick off at 11am next Thursday at the corner of Tristania Street and Kidds Road, Doveton, and will conclude at 4pm.
There will be a range of fun activities for all to enjoy, including live music and dancing, food stalls, exhibitions by various community groups, workshops, kids sports and games.
The day will also include $1 unlimited pool slides and access to all the pool’s facilities.
Entry into Doveton Pool in the Park on Australia Day will be free with an optional gold coin donation to help support future community events within Doveton and Eumemmerring. The celebrations will be a smokefree event. For more information, contact the Doveton and Eumemmerring Neighbourhood Renewal Office on 9791 4760.
