CRANBOURNE went down to St Mary’s in a thrilling Turf 1 game.
TURF 1
Cranbourne was beaten in the third-last over of the day by six runs after the St Mary’s number seven made 87 not out. St Mary’s finished 8/224.
For Cranbourne Mat Moore took 3/49 and Woodall 2/31.
TURF 3
An excellent bowling effort enabled Cranbourne to defend 189 for a good win, with the highlight being a great double of 105 and 4/12 from all-rounder Shaun Petrie. St Mary’s was bowled out for 171.
A GRADE
Defending 163 against Hallam at Hallam, Cranbourne was a bowler short when Stuart Mills was forced to withdraw before the game. Then strike bowler Ty Edwards was struck by injury and forced out. Chris Slater (3/69) and Scott Christian (4/45) fought hard but Hallam struggled over the line before being dismissed for 176.
C GRADE
In a hard-fought seven-run win the standout bowlers for Cranbourne were Will Hameeteman (3/30) and Troy Tharle (2/30). Hampton Park was all out 206.
D GRADE
Cranbourne had a solid 105-run victory over Springvale South, Richard Young scoring 46 and Ben Corrie 44 for a total of 220.
E GRADE
After a good start by the Cranbourne bowlers in wet conditions Hampton Park passed the 179-run target with five wickets down and went on to 250 all out. The best of the bowlers was Troy Kimball with 5/75 off 14 overs.
ONE-DAY GRADE
Cranbourne had a good win over Silverton (all out 71) after great bowling from A. Ligt and D. Matheson (both 4/16).
UNDER 17 (1)
Under-15 player Dean McDonnell did well, making 40 with A. Ciconte (30), giving Cranbourne a first innings win. Doveton went back in and Ash Brady bowled well, taking 4/14, and Doveton was bowled out for 78, giving Cranbourne an outright win by an innings and 18 runs.
UNDER 17 (2)
Cranbourne (7/238) defeated Maranatha Methodist by 50 runs thanks to the batting of Brad Stephens (62), Martin Kelly (59), Steven Henry (43 not out) and Aaron Strauhair (28).
UNDER 15 (1)
Chasing Lyndale’s 167, Cranbourne started solidly and Cameron Kelly returned to form with 47. Cranbourne needed seven runs an over with 10 overs to go and Aaron Sampson seized the moment and scored 57 not out to get Cranbourne across the line with two balls to go. Daniel Paterson, with an injured arm in a cast, scored the winning runs.
UNDER 15 (2) BLUE
Buckley Ridges passed Cranbourne’s 35 without losing a wicket but good bowling from Joel Reynolds with three wickets in an over and Steve McInnes kept the opposition to a lead of 38.
UNDER 15 (2) GOLD
Cranbourne started the day 2/8 and lost easy wickets to be 8/42 chasing Doveton’s 103. Cranbourne steadied through Daniel Baker (59) and Zach Harland (29) to earn a 30-run victory.

The weekend’s play was washed out with Cranbourne 0/4 chasing Noble Park’s 139.
UNDER 13 (1)
Cranbourne kept Buckley Ridges to 8/173 and remained undefeated. Cranbourne bowled and fielded well in wet and difficult conditions, the highlight being Cam Petrie’s hat-trick.

Cranbourne made only 50 with J. Sheils (16) top-scoring in the chase for Noble Park’s 7/107.
UNDER 13 (2) GOLD
Play was washed out on the second day with Lyndale set to chase 129.
UNDER 13 (3)
Cranbourne bowled well, restricting runs throughout the day and causing Narre North to fall short of the 150 target by 48 runs. Matt Shannon was the best of the bowlers, taking 3/7.
UNDER 11 BLUE
Cranbourne made 4/125, Joseph Stockdale scoring 17 not out, Brodie McLean 15 not out and Jake Smith 15.
UNDER 11 GOLD
Cranbourne scored 82 with the batting highlights being Todd McGrath (nine), Crain Hookey (eight) and Brayden Roscoe (six).
