Cranbourne bowls a big win

CRANBOURNE Bowls Club took Montmorency apart to record another maximum point victory in Metro Division One Pennant Bowls on Saturday.
Cranbourne was on the attack from the beginning and recorded big wins on all four rinks.
Lyn Quigg and Ray Travica were the big winners with their teams, winning by 18 and 14 shots respectively.
Junior Stuart Huddle made his debut for the season and performed very well.
Cranbourne is now sitting in second position on the ladder with the same number of wins as Clayton.
Scores: Cranbourne 123 d Montmorency 76. L. Quigg 34-16, R. Travica 31-17, P. Elgar 30-21, B. Gay 28-22.
Cranbourne (2) travelled to Berwick and was beaten by seven shots after a competitive match.
Cranbourne won only one rink, that of Rob Paddon and his team by nine shots. This rink is playing consistent bowls and performing well.
Scores: Cranbourne 86 lost to Berwick 93. R. Paddon 30-21, T. Whalley 24-26, S. Burnett 16-21, J. Pentreath 16-25.
Cranbourne (3) had its biggest victory of the season over Noble Park by 43 shots.
Cranbourne won all rinks to take maximum points with Ken McLeod’s rink the big winners with a 17-shot margin.
Scores: Cranbourne 111 d Noble Park 68. K. McLeod 31-14, W. Ballard 33-21, N. Fell 25-18, A. Hilton 22-15.
Cranbourne (4) won three rinks in defeating top side Vermont South by 17 shots and will move to top position. Keith Davies rink had another big win with a 20 shot margin, and is getting good support from his team.
Scores: Cranbourne 102 d Vermont South 85. K. Davies 38-18, L. Patterson 21-19, R. Blackburn 22-19, T. Bonney 21-29.
Cranbourne (5) travelled to Cheltenham and recorded a 29-shot win and was successful in three rinks.
Rob Sorensen’s rink was the star with an 18-shot win and continued its good form to stay on top.
Scores: Cranbourne 110 d Cheltenham 81. R. Sorensen 37-19, D. Conroy 27-18, G. Avery 28-17, M. Boltong 18-27.
Cranbourne (6) defeated a good side in Waverley Golf at home by 29 shots overall.
Cranbourne won three rinks with the big winners the rinks of Hans Worsteling and Sofio Raiti with margins of 22 and 18 respectively.
Scores: Cranbourne 109 d Waverley Golf 80. H. Worsteling 39-17, S. Raiti 32-14, G. Winters 29-20, W. Plumbe 19-29.
Cranbourne (7) had a great battle with Oakleigh before coming away to win by 16 shots at Oakleigh. Bert Romeijn’s rink was in great touch to win by 22 shots.
Scores: Cranbourne 95 d Oakleigh 79. B. Romeijn 35-13, T. Lennon 22-23, D. Harris 18-17, M. Frier 20-26.

Cranbourne (1) suffered a 24-shot overall loss to Keysborough at home. The side won only one rink, that of Lois Bennett and her team with an eight-shot margin.
Scores: Cranbourne 73 lost to Keysborough 97. L. Bennett 22-14, E. Anderson 21-25, L. Kidd 17-24, S. Venville 13-34.
Cranbourne (2) were away to Keysborough and returned with the points and a 17-shot win. Cranbourne won two rinks and tied the third, with the rink of Rhonda Bonney blitzing the opposition for a 19 shot win.
Scores: Cranbourne 99 lost to Keysborough 82. V. Bonney 37-18, Y. Van Der Wees 25-22, T. Lennon 19-19, E. Woodman 18-23.
Cranbourne (3) had a 12-shot win at home against Cranbourne RSL. Brenda Morrison’s rink was in control throughout the match for an 11-shot win that carried the day.
Scores: Cranbourne 74 d Cranbourne RSL 62. B. Morrison 30-19, C. Rose 21-25, R. Van Soost 23-28.
