College names first captains

CASEY’S newest school celebrated the announcement of its inaugural student leadership team in style last week.
Jai Carmichael and Courtney Witt were named as the first captains of Independent Colleges Australia (ICA) Casey College and received their badges from Narre Warren South MP Judith Graley at a special assembly last week.
Matthew Koulas and Brianna Taylor were also named vice-captains at the event attended by various members of the school community.
The day also marked the first time students and staff had full access to a new $9 million building on the Narre Warren South site.
House, music and information technology captains were also named on the same day.
Principal Geoff McLay said the announcement of the leaders and move into the new building signalled exciting times for the local community.
“ICA Casey College offers an independent schooling system based on solid educational curriculum combined with a worldly outlook,” Mr McLay said.
He said the school allowed students new opportunities and choices that were intellectually stimulating, progressive and exciting.
“We strive to open new doors for all of our students by recognising each student’s personal achievements, goals and dreams. We see what’s possible and then take each student on a journey to make it a reality,” he said.
