College eyes bright future

KAMBRYA College in Berwick has received new accreditation in recognition of their performance and development standards.
Last Wednesday the school received accreditation from the Victorian Department of Education as part of the Government’s Blueprint for Government Schools.
Kambrya College principal Ian McKenzie said the blueprint had been designed to ensure continuing improvement and progress in the quality of Victoria’s schools.
“It outlines measures that will be taken to ensure that all schools actively pursue excellence in teaching and learning. The intent of the Blueprint initiative was to develop the best solutions for building an even stronger learning culture in our schools, for the benefit of all Victorians,” he said.
Mr McKenzie said the Government’s objective was to have all Victorian Government schools accredited as performance and development culture schools by 2008.
He said since its inception, a performance and development culture had been inherent in all facets of Kambrya College.
“This has been apparent in the planning and implementation of our structure, our curriculum and our clear understanding that teachers are lifelong learners.
“This has now been acknowledged by the Victorian Department of Education by accrediting Kambrya College as not only having a culture of performance and development, but also nominating us as a reference school to assist other Victorian schools to achieve accreditation,” he said.
