POLICE have appealed for witnesses to a sex assault on a 12yearold girl inside a Narre Warren swimming pool.
Detective Sergeant Gary Kear of Narre Warren CIU said the assault occurred at 6.45pm last Thursday, Australia Day, when the girl was swimming with two 11yearolds at the Casey ARC.
Det Sgt Kear said the girl was approached by a man aged in his mid to early twenties and was sexually assaulted while inside the pool.
The man is described as being of olive complexion, 183 centimetres, of solid build, with dark short hair and wearing a royal blue shirt with a collar and shorts.
He left the scene in a white Hyundai Excel with a black sun visor on the rear window and Pplates visibly displayed.
Det Sgt Kear said the man left the scene in the company of other men and there had also been unconfirmed reports that the man had suggested to the girl that he was of Egyptian descent.
Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact Senior Constable Kylie Holloway of Narre Warren CIU on 9705 3111 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
