Classy catering impresses the guests

By Casey Neill
EUMEMMERRING Secondary College students have prepared and served a three-course meal for local community leaders.
Narre Warren South MP Judith Graley invited the students to cater for a lunch for Neighbourhood House and local government representatives to thank them for their hard work and to discuss community issues.
“This was a great opportunity for the Neighbourhood House representatives to see some of our very talented local young people in action,” Ms Graley said.
The 21 Year 11 and 12 students are completing Vocational Education and Training (VET) in hospitality.
Ms Graley said the event gave the students a chance to prepare a meal from beginning to end, and serve it with a high level of professionalism.
“The students not only gained some genuine work experience, but they also showcased their talents and their school’s resources to a group of community leaders who can spread the word about their abilities,” she said.
The 21 students prepared the meal in the kitchens at the college. Three students were chosen to transport and serve the food to the guests at Ms Graley’s electorate office.
Teacher Jen Caddy coordinated the lunch and school support officer, Lyn Marshall, accompanied students on the day.
