Cash boost for playtime

THE $37 million Cranbourne Aquatic and Leisure Centre is on schedule to open in mid-2009 after $9.4 million was allocated in the 2008-09 budget for its completion.
And as part of the council’s playground program, $185,000 has been committed for a district playground at Frog Hollow Reserve, with other playgrounds in Casey receiving $420,000 for refurbishing and upgrading works.
The budget has set aside $90,000 for transportable skate board ramps and $25,000 for the design of a skate park at Max Pawsey Reserve in Narre Warren.
Doveton’s Myuna Farm is celebrating after receiving $58,000 to go towards minor capital works including picnic area development and renovations to the animal display centre.
