Car out of control

AN out-of-control car caused chaos in a Narre Warren South street on Friday.
Three Ormond Road properties were damaged as a white Daewoo sedan careered through a roller door and into the backyard of an unsuspecting house.
Narre Warren Country Fire Authority (CFA) Lieutenant Paul Hardy said it was one of the most bizarre incidents he had seen in his 12 years with the brigade.
“I’ve never seen anything like that before,” he said.
Mr Hardy said the driver somehow lost control of the car and ran into a house about 2.30pm.
“He has then managed to drive across Ormond Road and smash through a roller door and squeeze through the driveway and into the backyard of another house,” he said.
Mr Hardy said the driver crashed through a pergola and over a fish pond before hitting a tree at the back of the property.
“He has then reversed off the tree and hit the pergola again,” he said.
However, the destruction didn’t stop there.
A neighbouring house was also brought into the mess after CFA officials had to remove a section of the backyard fence.
“We couldn’t get the car back out the way it came through so we had to take down a part of the fence and take it out through the next-door neighbour’s property,” Lt Hardy said.
The driver and passenger of the Daewoo were treated for minor injuries.
No-one else was injured in the incident.
Police said they were continuing to investigate the matter.
