CASEY residents gathered for a breast cancer awareness forum in Narre Warren South last week.
Health Minister Daniel Andrews was one of three guest speakers at Wednesday’s forum hosted by Narre Warren South MP Judith Graley at the Oakgrove Community Centre.
During the forum Mr Andrews spoke about the Government’s Victorian Cancer Action Plan which outlines a medium term vision for cancer reform that will offer standardised and high quality cancer care to all Victorians.
According to Mr Andrews, the aim is to increase survival rates by 10 per cent by 2015 through the implementation of the plan.
The CEO of Breast Cancer Network Australia Lyn Swinburne, who is also a breast cancer survivor, and Annie Carter from the Breast Care Centre spoke about their individual experiences with breast cancer at the forum.
