KEYSBOROUGH produced a major boilover in the first one-dayer of the season when it cruised past Berwick on Saturday.
In other turf-one games, Doveton continued to bite at the heels of the top four, Narre Warren returned to the winner’s circle and Cranbourne’s batting disappointed again.

Keysborough d Berwick

KEYSBOROUGH caused the season’s biggest upset by conquering the previously undefeated Berwick by five wickets at Arch Brown Reserve on Saturday.
Berwick batted first and reached 54 before Warren Dickman (1/38) uprooted Alexs Roberts’ stumps.
It remained the largest partnership in the innings as regular wickets fell and only Gavan Wills (58 not out) managed to stem the tide as it made 6/182.
Mahesh Karunaratna did the bulk of the damage with 3/38 off his eight overs.
Despite Dickman (three runs) falling early, Keysborough forged on and a 72-run alliance between Chris David (45) and Andrew Powell (64) set the foundations for the win with four overs to spare.

@BT Sub Sport News:
Doveton d St Mary’s

DOVETON’S charge towards the top four continued with a slender two-run triumph over bottom-side St Mary’s at Robinson Reserve on the weekend.
Doveton all-rounder Ryan Hendy (99) was sensational again and belted 15 fours and two sixes on the way to orchestrating his side’s 7/219.
His biggest support came from the St Mary’s bowlers who provided 42 extras to the total.
Troy Cashman (78) hit his highest total of the season for St Mary’s from the top of the order and had allies in Jonathan Parsons (31) and Michael Turner (28), but an astounding five run-outs ruined their cause.

@BT Sub Sport News:Narre Warren d Dandenong West

NARRE Warren crushed Dandenong West by 76 runs to end its miserable run of losses at Greaves Reserve on Saturday.
Fine contributions from Vinay Tripathi (54) and captain-coach Wendell Perumal (46) and a blockbuster 56 from 35 balls by Bill O’Loughlin carried Narre Warren to 6/236 at the end of 40 overs.
The Magpies then wreaked havoc with Dandenong West’s top order and had them 3/29 before a mini-recovery took them to 3/88.
Perumal (4/19) entered the fray and destroyed the rest of the line-up for 160 to take his side to victory.

@BT Sub Sport News:Parkfield d Cranbourne

PARKFIELD moved into fifth place with a dominant 75-run thrashing of Cranbourne at Parkfield Reserve on the weekend.
Some late hitting by Parkfield’s Grant Milnes (42 not out) took the score to 150 after 40 overs and it proved to be more than enough.
Cranbourne’s first wicket fell at one and Richard Price (5/14) and Shane Doig (3/11) scorched through the rest of the order in bowling them out for just 75 in 25.5 overs.
Only Cranbourne captain Ross Woodall (16) and Matthew Moore (16) managed double figures.

Hallam Kalora Park d Fountain Gate

HALLAM Kalora Park walloped an embarrassing Fountain Gate by seven wickets at Max Pawsey Reserve on Saturday.
Hallam Kalora Park opening bowler Andrew Lee (6/27) roared through the Fountain Gate line-up as it collapsed for a measly 70 in 25 overs.
Cameron Knight (16) was Fountain Gate’s sole batsman in double figures.
Fountain Gate came out fighting and sent three Hallam Kalora Park players back to the pavilion with only 26 runs on the scoreboard.
That was the end of the resistance, however and John Hammond (25 not out) and dual Wookey Medal-winner Steven Chapman (23 not out) guided Hallam-Kalora Park to an easy win.

@BT Sub Sport News:HSD d Hampton Park

HSD comfortably accounted for Hampton Park by five wickets at Booth Reserve on the weekend.
Hampton Park’s innings was as good as over when it fell to 3/7 and despite the efforts of all-rounder James van Elewoud (57), Danny Cortese (30) and Suhayl Khan (29) could only reach 7/151 after 40 overs.
HSD slipped into a similar hole and at 4/43 was in serious danger of falling apart.
Michael Davies (47 not out) and Scott Brandon (51) could not be denied, however, and their partnership took HSD to the cusp of victory and Ben Doran (five not out) knocked up the final few runs.
@BT Sub Sport News:Maranatha Methodist d Berwick

MARANATHA Methodist devastated Berwick by seven wickets at Strathaird Reserve on Saturday.
Berwick struggled for its entire innings as it cobbled together 138 before being bowled out after 34.2 overs.
Robert Chilver was the best of the batsmen with 25, but Warren Dickson (4/16) and Paul Leys (3/41) were the dominant players.
David Rechsteiner (58) and Jeff Thom (35 not out) set about wrapping the target up as quickly as possible and carried the score to 85, before the former was the first of Brendan Lloyd’s two victims.
It was a formality from there and Nathan Monk (eight not out) joined Thom as the other undefeated batsmen when the target was surpassed.

@BT Sub Sport News:Lyndale d Doveton North

LYNDALE joined the myriad of teams that bowled their opponents out in the 70s as it demolished Doveton North by five wickets at Power Reserve on the weekend.
Doveton North batsman Simon Blake (18) was a lone ranger in double figures and watched as his teammates crumbled around him.
Lyndale pair Jeremy Vethecan (3/9) and Rod Keyaerts (3/29) were the pick of the bowlers and played a pivotal role in rolling their opponents for an embarrassing 75.
Lyndale made hard work of the chase, but had plenty in the bank when Sean Flentjar (15 not out) and Vethecan (12 not out) stormed past the target.
