Awareness beats bullying

STUDENTS at St Paul Apostle North Primary School know how to handle bullies.
This week the Bully Busters visited the Endeavour Hills school to conduct anti-bullying workshops with all students.
Deputy principal Paul Dwyer said the program showed children useful ways to respond to intimidating behaviour in the schoolyard or classroom.
Mr Dywer said students learned about confident body language, eye contact and tone of voice and the difference between assertive, aggressive and passive behaviour.
“It is a great program that is really well needed these days.
“There is now a much greater awareness about bullying and schools must be more accountable.
“The program shows students ways to respond to bullying in the first instance and is very positive,” he said.
