But at Oatlands Primary School in Narre Warren on Monday, a school assembly watched with joy as Oatlander Angus took to his friend Brendan’s head with the clippers and shaved the lot clean off.
Brendan’s bravery was the culmination of a month of hard saving and sponsorship by the students and staff at Oatlands Primary School in a bid to reach the $2000 target for their Bluey Day fundraising for cancer research and supporting children with cancer and other lifethreatening illnesses.
After selling a stack of merchandise and raising money any way they could, the school raised a grand total of $2229.15, which will be presented at an upcoming school assembly.
As for Brendan, he was handed a Bluey Day beanie to keep his scone warm as he entered the cold conditions of the wintry playground immediately after Monday’s shave and said he was happy to have contributed to the good cause.
