Vandals strike

OBSCENITIES and homophobic statements were scrawled across classrooms at Pakenham Hills Primary School over the weekend.
Principal Dale Hendrick arrived at the school on Monday morning to see the obscenities scribbled along the walls in the central courtyard of the school.
Mr Hendrick said the graffiti spree, not able to be seen from the street, was the worst case of vandalism he had seen at the school in his time there.
“From time to time we have one or two tags, or a broken window,” he said.
“But this would be the worst case by far.”
Almost every wall in the centre courtyard of the school is covered with scribble, sometimes taking up whole walls, even prep classrooms.
“They have written obscenities all over a feature wall, prep classrooms, windows and our water tanks,” he said.
“I’ve never seen anything like this.”
Pakenham’s Senior Sergeant Alan McCarthy said police were taking the matter very seriously and were continuing their inquiries into the vandalism spree.
He said anyone who saw individuals in the school grounds outside school hours, especially in the lead-up to the school holidays, should contact police.
Anyone with information in relation to the graffiti can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
