PAKENHAM District Girl Guides hosted Federal McMillan MP Russell Broadbent on Monday evening to celebrate 100 years of Girl Guides.
Mr Broadbent and about 18 Guides enjoyed hearing the history of Pakenham Girl Guides from the Trefoil Guild.
The Guild is a group of women over the age of 40 who have all been guides in their youth and joined the Guides as early as 1935.
The girls presented Mr Broadbent with two celebration badges from the Pakenham Girl Guides as a memento of his visit and 100 years of Girl Guides world wide.
The girls heard from Mr Broadbent about the $1 coin that will be circulated by the Royal Australian Mint and three new stamps to be issued by Australia Post to commemorate the Girl Guides centenary year.
Girl Guide leader Sonya Boloski said the girls enjoyed a wonderful evening of learning and heritage.
