Just what the doctor ordered- Doctors Rekha and Sunil Kumar plan to open Tooradin’s first medi

A TRIP to Cranbourne for a check up won’t be necessary for Tooradin residents for much longer, as the town’s first doctor prepares to open his clinic doors.
Work started on the town’s first medical centre last week, and Doctor Sunil Kumar said it would become the most comprehensive integrated medical centre in the region.
The Tooradin Super Clinic will include the services of a dentist, physiotherapist, podiatrist and psychologist on an appointment basis to begin with.
Dr Kumar, who owns a medical centre in Crib Point, hopes to have the clinic open by 1 July and plans to extend it and build new facilities down the track, depending on the response from the community.
And his wife, Dr Rekha Kumar, and another doctor will also join the clinic.
It was important that the Tooradin community got behind the new clinic to ensure its future in the coastal town, Dr Kumar said.
“It’s a big economic risk for us. We have seen the community needs it and we believe the community will support it once we open it,” Dr Kumar said.
