FOUR times over the legal limit and driving all over the road.
Pakenham police were called to a Pakenham street after complaints of erratic driving in the early hours of Friday morning.
When police pulled the 28-year-old Pakenham man over, he recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.211.
Acting Senior Sergeant Ray De Reus said the man’s licence was immediately suspended.
The incident was reported during the same period as Pakenham police held Operation Thunderbolt, a visible presence on the Pakenham Bypass, which netted over 200 speeding drivers.
Sgt De Reus said two safety cameras checked 9923 cars over the operation that saw 181 penalty notices sent out.
“The highest speed registered was 131 kilometres per hour in a 100 zone,” Sgt De Reus said.
“It just proves that cameras can operate on the bypass at any time, day or night.”
As part of the operation, he said, a dedicated unit also patrolled the bypass over three nights, which saw 36 drivers receive penalty notices for a range of speed offences.
“There was a total of 63 offences in those three nights, those include refusal of breath tests, driving while suspended, driving while disqualified, driving without a licence, not wearing a seatbelt and other issues.”
Sgt De Reus said the figures showed a fairly good result for local police.
