THERE is now the chance to thank those who work tirelessly in the community, volunteering in local groups, clubs and community projects.
Nominations are now open for next year’s Cardinia Shire Australia Day Awards.
Mayor Bill Pearson has put out a last call for nominations, which close on Friday 30 October.
The Cardinia Shire Australia Day Awards will be presented at celebrations on 26 January at the Cardinia Cultural Centre.
The awards recognise and celebrate the achievements and contributions of valued community members in five categories: Citizen of the Year, Senior Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Community Event of the Year and Community Service Award.
The fifth category, Community Service Award, is to honour people who do not live in Cardinia Shire but have made significant contributions to the Cardinia Shire community.
