Driving skills

TEENAGERS interested in cars are invited to the Pakenham Auto Club junior Come and Try day at the club’s McGregor Road site this Sunday, 28 June.
The event is an opportunity for children aged 12 to 18 to learn car control skills in a safe environment.
Juniors wanting to participate should arrive at the venue by 8.30am and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
A comprehensive briefing on safe participation will precede the driving program, which will include negotiating a Motorkhana test under supervision.
Juniors and their parents are welcome to stay and compete in the Motorkhana, which will have categories for juniors and adults and finish about 4pm.
Motorkhana participants must be a member of a Confederation of Australia Motorsports (CAMS) affiliated club and hold an appropriate CAMS licence, both of which can be organised on the day if necessary.
The club will have an automatic car available for juniors to use if they do not have access to a car. A fee will apply for the use of club car in the Motorkhana.
