Report health needs online

CARDINIA Shire mayor Bill Pearson is urging residents to get online and note their health and well-being priorities with the council.
An on-line survey is underway to seek the community’s views for a new public health and wellbeing plan.
Cr Pearson said the plan focused on promoting a healthy lifestyle for people who lived or worked in Cardinia Shire.
“We want people to provide us with an indication of their priorities for the next four years. The feedback we get from residents will be included in the plan,” he said.
“This will help council produce a strategy that properly reflects the priorities of the community, we want you to identify the issues that are most important to you.”
The Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2009–2013 will identify the most important health and wellbeing issues for Cardinia Shire residents and outline actions the council and the community can undertake to improve the health and wellbeing of all people living in the shire.
The survey can be accessed by clicking on a link on the main page of the council’s website www.cardinia.vic.gov.au. Community groups and organisations will also be contacted and invited to participate.
Paper copies of the survey are available by contacting the council’s health promotion co-ordinator Georgia Davies-Jackson on 1300 787 624.
Individuals or groups who fill in the survey, either on-line or in paper form, will be entered in a prize draw for a number of great prizes.
The survey has to be completed by Friday 22 May.
For more information contact Ms Davies-Jackson on 1300 787 624.
