CARDINIA and Casey rail commuters will get to have their say on the state of the Pakenham and Cranbourne lines.
A Parliamentary Committee will inquire into the causes of failure in the provision of train services on the lines.
The Victorian Legislative Council last week voted 21 to 19 to set up the seven-member select committee, with the Victorian Liberal National Coalition, Greens and the DLP member voting for the inquiry.
South Eastern Metropolitan Region MP Inga Peulich said the Brumby Government had failed commuters on the Pakenham and Cranbourne lines.
“The Brumby Government has had $250 billion dollars in revenue and 10 years to build the necessary transport infrastructure to make the trains run and match the population growth of our suburbs,” she said.
Ms Peulich urged all residents to make submissions.
Casey residents can pre-register for information regarding submissions or questions to be asked by contacting Inga Peulich’s office on 9772 1366 or publictransport@ingapeulich.org
