A LAKESIDE fun run will raise funds to help disadvantaged people get their health back on track.
The Lakeside Pakenham community and YMCA Cardinia LiFE have joined forces to host the second annual Lakeside Fun Run this Sunday.
People of all ages and fitness levels are invited to take part in the 4km or 8km walk or run around Lakeside Pakenham’s wetlands and Toomuc Creek.
This year’s event will raise funds for YMCA Open Doors, which helps disadvantaged people reclaim their right to a healthy life.
Lakeside Pakenham project director Sharon Coates said she expected a big community turn out for the Fun Run which was organised to promote community involvement and encourage a fit and healthy lifestyle.
“Last year saw the first ever Lakeside Fun Run held around the lake, with the event attracting more than 400 people, from mums and dads with prams to professional athletes,” she said.
“I encourage everyone to put their running shoes on and come down to Lakeside Pakenham for what will be a great day of community fun.”
The Lakeside Fun Run will take place from 9am at the Pakenham Athletics Track, Toomuc Valley Reserve.
