AUSTRALIAN cricketer and Victorian Sheffield Shield player Paul Sheahan will join Pakenham residents in celebrating one of the nation’s most important days.
Sheahan is the ambassador at the shire’s Australia Day event at the Cardinia Cultural Centre on Monday.
Festivities will be running at the venue from 11am to 2pm. The celebration will include the mayor’s Australia Day address, presentation of the shire’s Australia Day Awards, a citizenship ceremony and a free community barbecue.
Face painting, an animal farm, Landcare display and a native plant giveaways are among the activities.
