Developers short-listed for retail precinct

THREE developers have been short-listed to submit tenders for a Pakenham retail precinct in John Street.
The Cardinia Shire Council recently sought expressions of interest after Consolidated Properties Group abandoned plans to develop a $40 million retail hub at the site in August.
The precinct, behind Treloar Lane, was to feature a full-scale K-Mart store, several speciality shops and 799 parking spaces.
Cardinia Shire chief executive Garry McQuillan said the council was working hard to achieve the best possible outcome for the development of the retail precinct.
“Council received a number of expressions of interest and has selected a shortlist of three developers who have been invited to submit a tender for development of the land,” Mr McQuillan said. A report will be submitted to the new council in March.
