New RSL rooms

MEMBERS of the Pakenham RSL sub-branch will hold their monthly meeting at their newly refurbished clubrooms at 2pm today ( Thursday).
President Norm Joseph said all serving and ex-service members of the armed forces were invited to attend the meeting and look around the new clubrooms.
He said members will discuss upcoming RSL activities, including visits from Department of Veteran Affairs representatives.
Mr Joseph said Pakenham RSL sub-branch members are looking for volunteers to help them sell poppies for Remembrance Day on 11 November.
He encouraged volunteers from community organisations to help the RSL sell poppies in the week leading up to Remembrance Day.
Mr Joseph said some RSL members had aged and more help was needed.
Local Scouts were also encouraged to help distribute the poppies around the Pakenham area.
Mr Joseph said crowd numbers had increased significantly at recent Anzac Day services and hoped the same enthusiasm would be shown for Remembrance Day.
Anyone interested in volunteering for Remembrance Day can contact Rob Fox on 5941 1083 or Norm Joseph on 5941 5756.
