TRAFFIC lights at the intersection of the Princes Highway and Racecourse Road in Pakenham have been switched on in a boost for safety at a notorious local blackspot.
The lights are also another milestone in the construction of the Pakenham Bypass.
The signals have been put in by VicRoads to ensure safe traffic movements during construction of the bypass, due for completion in 2007. Residents hope the temporary signals will become permanent after the bypass is finished.
