PAKENHAM hosted its annual Christmas race meeting on Friday, highlighted by a training double to leading Caulfield trainer Mick Price and the maiden win of locally prepared mare Miss Kimberlina for Suzanne Byers.
Almost 1000 patrons took advantage of trackside hospitality packages, creating a festive atmosphere with many district businesses taking the opportunity to thank their staff and customers for the year’s efforts.
On track the action came thick and fast, with Byers four-year-old mare ridden by Craig Robertson providing the high point for local punters in the 1400-metre Maiden Plate at the juicy starting price of $9.30.
