Busted booster causes gusher

Plumbers Matt Frith and Wayne Goode from First Rate Plumbing were called out to fix the water booster on Thursday morning. Plumbers Matt Frith and Wayne Goode from First Rate Plumbing were called out to fix the water booster on Thursday morning.

WATER surged in John Street for almost half an hour last week after a motorist drove into a water booster outside the Pakenham Fruit Shop.
Police said the driver pushed the wrong pedal in her car before plummeting into the booster about 9.30pm on Wednesday 28 May.
“The woman accidentally pushed the accelerator and she’s taken out the mains water booster for the entire Pakenham Plaza shopping complex,” Senior Sergeant Graham Higginbotham said.
“There was a 20-metre gush of water for a substantial amount of time.”
“The shopping centre management’s plumbers came after hours and (the complex was) without water for some time.”
Sen Sgt Higginbotham said it took about half an hour for plumbers to stem the water flow.
He said the woman’s car and the water booster were the only property damaged as a result of the incident.
