Antiques are on the road for food bank- Mark Lilley of Pakenham Financial Services and volunte

PAKENHAM will host an antique road show of its own next Saturday (26 July) to raise vital funds for food bank 4Cs.
The fifth annual fair will feature stallholders from around Victoria displaying glassware, china and pottery and a huge range of other antique items at the Pakenham Racecourse from 9am to 4pm.
Collectors can also have their own pieces assessed by licensed valuer David Freeman from 1pm at a cost of $5 per item.
No jewellery, coins or stamps can be valued, but photos can be brought to help with the valuation of bigger items.
Last year the fair raised $9000 for 4Cs and organisers are hoping to top that figure this year.
4Cs director Jeni Mathieson said local antique collector Jewel Beard came up with the idea for the fair five years and it had gone from strength to strength since.
This year the AMP Foundation, in conjunction with Pakenham Financial Services, has jumped on board.
Mark Lilley from Pakenham Financial Services said he was excited to announce that the AMP Foundation would match 50 per cent of the funds raised by the antique fair.
Ms Mathieson said she was thankful for the companies’ support and also that of the Pakenham Racing Club for making the racecourse available to them.
Entry for the antique fair is $5 an adult, $4 concession and free for children. For more information about the fair call Jewel on 5941 1327 or Maureen on 5943 2366.
