Proud moment for emergency precinct

PAKENHAM emergency services were presented with two new flags in a ceremony yesterday (Wednesday).
Bass MP Ken Smith presented the flags to the SES, CFA and Victoria Police, which will fly on the masts outside the complex on the Princes Highway, Pakenham.
“There’s nothing I like more than presenting Australian flags,” he said.
“There is no greater country in this world than what we’ve got here in Australia, and Victoria is a great state.”
Mr Smith said that he hoped people driving past the complex would think about what it meant to be Australian when they saw the flags.
He also praised the design of the emergency services precinct, and the SES, CFA and Victoria Police for their contribution to the local community.
“When these premises were built, I thought what a fantastic idea to have these emergency services together,” Mr Smith said.
Acting Senior Sergeant Graham Higginbotham said the presentation, to all three emergency services, was important.
“This sort of presentation reinforces the team effort that goes in to this complex,” he said.
After the ceremony, Bunyip police officer Nick Bayliss was presented with a District Commendation medal for outstanding police work.
