AN ELDERLY motorist was taken to hospital after his car ran off the Princes Highway and hit road signs and a power pole in Pakenham on Sunday.
Police said the 79-year-old Jindivick man was travelling east through the town when his car, which was towing a trailer, ran off the road.
Cardinia TMU sergeant Peter Garton said the man was taken to Casey hospital but was not seriously hurt.
Police said the incident served as a reminder to motorists to ensure trailer loads were securely fastened and correctly loaded and that trailers were in good roadworthy condition.
