LOCALS will be able to show their furry friends how much they love them at next Saturday’s Cardinia Shire Pet Expo.
The event will run from 10am to 2pm at the Cardinia Shire office, Henry Way, Pakenham.
The expo is being held in conjunction with Microchips Australia and through this arrangement local vets will be on hand to administer a discounted micro-chip for just $20 per animal.
Council’s local laws manager Alan Giachin says a microchip helps identify a pet if they are lost or injured.
“The expo is also a chance to register a pet,” he said.
“You may have got a new pet for Christmas who is yet to be registered or you may have just moved to Cardinia Shire so your pet is currently not registered with us.”
There will also be stalls with pet products, dog dental checks, samples, activities and face painting available at the expo.
