THREE volunteers from Pakenham’s State Emergency Service unit have been honoured with a national medal.
Bruce Monro, Andrew Helps and Corey Tibballs were awarded the medals at a presentation on Sunday at the annual SES state awards.
The national medal is awarded for 15 years’ diligent service, with the first clasp and second clasp awarded for 25 years’ and 35 years’ service.
The local recipients were congratulated by Police and Emergency Services Minister Bob Cameron and SES chief executive Mary Barry.
The awards ceremony was held at South Morang.
Ms Barry said Pakenham residents and communities around Victoria were lucky to have such a remarkable group of people with the skills and dedication to respond to a wide range of emergencies.
