JENNY Thompson wants to help local residents get a head start in small business.
Mrs Thompson is a business trainer at the Living and Learning in Cardinia (LLINC) centre in Pakenham. For the past two years Jenny has taught Certificate II and III in Business Administration.
She has had 24 years of industry experience in business administration in small and large firms.
Jenny and her husband own a business in Berwick and know what is required to be successful. Jenny is also a member of the Women Making it Work Casey Cardinia Women in Business Group.
Jenny finds Certificate II in Business encourages her students to further themselves with team work skills, computer skills, time management and more. Most of the students go onto Certificate III in Business Administration with confidence and are ready for the workplace being competent in bookkeeping and computer operation. This year Jenny is looking forward to a new challenge in teaching Certificate IV Small Business Management at Living and Learning in Cardinia.
Jenny said she was looking forward to using her local knowledge and networks to help other people start a business.
“The certificate offers the tools to start your own business or to developing skills if you currently operate a small business,” she said.
The classes are set in a modern and comfortable atmosphere with up-to-date equipment.
