PETITION calling for a new primary school in Pakenham has received 300 signatures, and counting.
Residents pushing for a new statefunded school in the Heritage Springs estate said their efforts had won plenty of support in the community.
A recent public meeting saw a taskforce established to spearhead efforts to lobby State Government for funding in next year’s budget.
Pakenham parent Claire Johnson said a new school was desperately needed.
“We’ve had a pretty positive response to the petition so far,” she said. The taskforce will meet again next Monday, 24 October.
