PLANNING is well under way for the Pakenham National Photographic Exhibition.
The third annual exhibition and competition will be held at the Cardinia Cultural Centre from 5 to 7 May.
The event is organised by the Pakenham Camera Club.
Star News Group, publishers of the Pakenham News, is among the sponsors of the event.
It doesn’t matter if you are a happy snapper, a serious amateur or a seasoned professional, everyone can be inspired by the exhibition, which attracts entries from around Australia.
You don’t have to be a club member to enter because it is open to all.
Categories in the print sections are Open Color, Photojournalism, Open Monochrome, Rural Australia, Architecture, People/portrait, Creative Experimental and Under 25 Years of Age Open.
Slide sections are Open, Photojournalism, Rural Australia and People portraiture. Entries must be in by 10 March.
A competition is open to secondary school students in the Casey and Cardinia Shire municipalities.
Awards are presented for the Best Print and runner-up in Open Section and Best Creative/Experimental print for years nine and 10 students as well as years 11 and 12 students.
A trophy will also be awarded to the Most Successful School.
Pakenham Camera Club welcomes photographers of all level of ability or interest.
Participating in workshops, going on outings and the opportunity to enter club competitions for some constructive critique of your images will enhance your enjoyment and appreciation of photography while quickly improving your photographic skills.
New members are made most welcome and with current members being at all levels from beginners to professional there is something for everyone.
The club meets on the third Tuesday of every month at the Pakenham Uniting Church Hall, 94 Main Street, Pakenham.
