IT’S boom time for babies.
Cardinia Shire Council’s maternal and child health service recorded 226 births between October and December 2006.
This was more than 50 babies in excess of the same period last year.
A report to the council’s 19 February meeting said birth notices were increasing at a rate of about six per cent.
The number of families moving to the area with children under the age six is also on the rise.
