Get together for Christmas

By Paul Dunlop
PEOPLE who may be alone this Christmas can get together with other families at a community festive celebration.
Following a successful inaugural event last year, Pakenham’s Big House Communities is again hosting its Great Aussie Christmas Day Feast.
Big House director Andre Van Eymeren said that during Christmas last year numbers of families and individuals enjoyed being together, sharing great food, laughter and joy.
“On the menu for this year is once again all the traditional trappings including roast meats, yummy hot vegies, puddings and cakes. And what’s an Aussie celebration without a pavlova or two.
“Big House Communities is creating a new Christmas tradition for Pakenham,” he said.
“After lunch there will be the opportunity to sit and chat with others, listen to a yarn or two and even play a game of backyard cricket. There will be activities for the kids and Santa is even expected to make a visit on his way back to the North Pole.”
Mr Van Eymeren said the invitation was open to anyone who would like to join in the free celebrations. Donations are welcome and the event is alcohol free.
