PAKENHAM and District University of the Third Age (U3A) celebrated the 10th anniversary of Adult Learners Week with an open day on Tuesday at the U3A House in James Street.
U3A is a totally volunteer provider of Adult Community Education for matureage people at a low cost.
There are 27 subjects on offer in Pakenham on a wide range of topics including computer studies, current affairs, history, craft, scrabble, poetry and music.
U3A offers a friendly, welcoming environment for learning and socialising.
Members of the group meet for lunch on the third Thursday each month. Last month they chose to dine at the Grayn Restaurant where they all enjoyed the break from ‘school’.
