By Casey Neill
PAKENHAM Hills Primary School has won the mixed netball final in the district Lightning Premiership day at Toomuc Reserve, Pakenham.
Local schools Oatlands Primary School, Hallam Valley Primary School, Beaconhills College, St Kevin’s Primary School and Fountain Gate Primary School also took part in the round robin competition.
The students competed in netball, t-ball, kickball, football and soccer.
Hallam Valley took out the girls’ netball and boys’ football competitions.
Pakenham Hills was runners up to Oatlands in the t-ball competition. Oatlands came second in mixed netball and boys’ football.
Oatlands teacher, Debbie Hought-on, said the kids had a really good day.
“The kids enjoy it and really get a lot out of it,” she said. “It gets them active and it’s good to get together with the other schools in the area.”
A Lightning Premiership day is held each summer and winter. The schools compete in a home and away competition throughout the term.
