POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a string of burglaries in Pakenham during broad daylight last Sunday.
Thieves raided five premises from 9.30am to mid-afternoon, smashing windows and taking a variety of items including laptop computers and cameras.
Police believe the burglaries were related and that the offenders started in Main Street and worked their way towards Army Road.
Cash was stolen from Allied Building Services in Main Street at 9.30am, while a laptop was taken from a Childcare Centre on the Princes Highway shortly after.
The thieves then broke into the Falling Water sales office in Army Road.
However, nothing appeared to be taken from the premises.
The Star News Group office on the corner of Army Road and the Princes Highway was raided, with camera lenses, a digital camera and a tin of Milo stolen.
Pakenham Hills Primary School, on the corner of Kennedy and Army roads, was also broken into.
The school is still determining what was taken from its Information Technology office.
Police said windows were smashed at four of the premises.
The thieves broke through a garage door at the Falling Waters sales office to gain access.
Police believe a vehicle was involved and urge anyone with information to contact Pakenham Police on 5945 2500.
