Dianne Patten’s quilting and sewing talents coupled with her generosity of spirit has seen many organisations benefit from her work.
Dianne has her creations on display and for sale in her Bunyip Maker’s Market shop.
“I love living and working in Bunyip. The townspeople here are always friendly, kind, thoughtful and helpful. It makes me feel like I am part of an extended family,” she said.
She has been sewing for 30 years and quilting for the past 20 in between sharing her life with partner Barry, three sons and six grandchildren.
Dianne’s passion for quilting came from her late mum, who had been a dressmaker all her life.
But it is Dianne’s ability to give to others that separates her from rest.
Raising $14,000 for breast cancer, collecting and counting money for Bunyip’s Uncle Bob’s Club and donating quilts to the Royal Children’s Hospital are just some of the things Dianne has been able to achieve.
Dianne’s talents include the making of bunny rugs, wall hangings, doll’s clothes and baby jackets just to name a few.
Bunyip Maker’s Market shop will also be hosting a Friends of Hillview, Bunyip Aged Care, Quilt Show at 17 Main Street, Bunyip on Saturday, 20 August and Sunday, 21 August. A handmake quilt by Barbara Dickinson, quilted by Sue Foster will be raffled. Please support this fundraiser by buying a raffle ticket, making a donation or coming along and supporting the weekend.
All proceeds will go towards Hillview Aged Care, Bunyip.
